How we collect, use and protect your personal information, and the rights you have over it.

Version 2026-09-29

1. Who we are

Jon Booth Branding ("we", "us") is a creative production company in Harare, Zimbabwe, offering voice, audio, motion and campaign production. We are the data controller for the personal information described below.

2. Data Protection Officer

Questions, requests and complaints about your personal information go to our Data Protection Officer:

  • The Data Protection Officer, Jon Booth Branding
  • Email: [email protected]
  • WhatsApp: +263 77 633 6122

3. What we collect

  • Enquiries and bookings: your name, email, phone, company, the brief, any script or files you upload, budget and deadline.
  • Contact form and WhatsApp: your name, contact details and the messages you send us.
  • Newsletter: your email address and, if given, your first name.
  • Client accounts and Campaign Coins: your email, encrypted password, project records, invoices and coin transactions.
  • Consent records: when you tick a consent box we log your email, the purpose, the policy version and your IP address, as proof of consent.
  • Technical data: basic server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) and a light/dark theme preference stored in your browser. We do not run advertising trackers.

4. Why we use it, and our lawful basis

  • To answer your enquiry, prepare a quote and deliver the work you commission — consent and performance of a contract.
  • To send our newsletter — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • To run your client account, invoice you and keep financial records — contract and legal obligation.
  • To keep the site secure and prevent spam or abuse — our legitimate interests.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with people and services needed to deliver our work: the voice artists and creatives assigned to your project, and service providers such as our hosting, email, payment and messaging platforms (including WhatsApp). Each may only use it to provide their service to us. We disclose information where the law requires it.

6. Transfers outside Zimbabwe

Some of our providers store data outside Zimbabwe. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to make sure your information receives protection comparable to that required by Zimbabwean law.

7. How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not proceed are kept for up to 24 months. Project files and records are kept for the life of the project and as long as needed for warranty, accounting and tax purposes (generally up to 7 years for financial records). Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Consent records are kept while the related data is held.

8. Your rights

You may ask us to:

  • confirm what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
  • correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
  • delete your information, where we no longer need it or the law does not require us to keep it;
  • stop or restrict how we use it, or object to a particular use;
  • withdraw your consent at any time (this does not affect earlier lawful use).

Email our Data Protection Officer and we will respond within 30 days. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link. If you are unhappy with our response you may complain to the Data Protection Authority (the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe, POTRAZ).

9. Security

We protect information with access controls, encrypted connections and encrypted passwords, and limit access to the people who need it. No system is completely secure; if a breach affects you we will notify you and the authority as the law requires.

10. Children

Our services are for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. The version above shows when it last changed; material changes will be flagged on this site. See also our Terms & Conditions.
